After leading the Yorkton Terriers in goal scoring as a rookie last season, 19-year-old Torey Stott (pictured) was held pointless in his first 4 games as a sophomore, but quickly erased any thought of the dreaded sophomore jinx, potting a hat trick in a 4-3 win over Battleford on Saturday night.David Skagen scored the Terriers' first goal, while Stott's linemates, Clarke Breitkreuz (2a) and Jordan Menke (1a) both found the scoresheet as well. Devin Peters made 28 saves in the win... both teams are now 2-and-3. The Terriers host Notre Dame on Wednesday.

Paul Bonar's (pictured) return to the Swan Valley Stampeders is paying dividends. Paul scored twice in Saturday's 7-6 win over Steinbach, giving the Stamps a 6-3 record and a share of first place with the Dauphin Kings (6-1). Ryan Marshall had a second straight night of a goal and 3-assists, vaulting his league leading totals to 10-goals and 19-points in just 9 games. Cody Straker (1g, 2a), Myles Stevens (1g, 2a), Darcy Riddell (3a), Eric Herbel (1g, 1a) and Chris Reimer (1g) all chipped in as well.-------------------
And after getting out to a 2-0 lead, the Wayway Wolverines lost 8-3 last night in Dauphin. Scoring for Wayway were Jens Meilleur (1g, 1a), Joe Carney and Gabe Gardipy.
Speaking of those Wolverines... I'm just about to hit the road for Neepawa... Wolves/Natives on the air at 7:20 MB time. Talk to you then, gotta run!
