Did this sneak up on anyone? August 25th? Hockey? It's usually that August 30-September 1 range that exhibition starts (and still does for most teams), but the Swan Valley Stampeders and Dauphin Kings kick off a Pre-Season Home-and-Home tonight at Credit Union Place in Dauphin. I put together a master schedule of Exhibition Games for the four teams we cover. They actually play eachother a lot, with Yorkton/Melville, Wayway/Yorkton, Wayway/Melville all playing home-and-homes, and Wayway/Swan meeting once.

Like school, the Hockey season seems to get earlier and earlier each year.
I remember when the Yorkton Terrier camps were always held during the Labour Day weekend but it's this upcoming weekend this year.
Next year, there might be Hockey for all 12 months. Because of the Olympics, Game 7 of the Stanley Cup playoffs might be pushed into July and that's sad. Even at the end of May, I'm sick of Hockey already.

I agree... I don't mind watching the cup final in June... and I would LOVE to call Junior Hockey in May!
