NEWELL TO MISS ROUND 1, MAYBE MORE

The Melville Millionaires will be without the SJHL's highest scoring defenseman for their series with the Yorkton Terriers.

Tyson Newell sustained a lower-body injury with 20 seconds to go in a 'nothing game' against Notre Dame on Tuesday night.

Newell, who led all SJHL blueliners with 54 points (10g-44a) in 44 games, is seeing a specialist this week, but early indications are that he'll be out for no less than 3 weeks, and it's possible he could miss the rest of this season, regardless how far the Millionaires go.

Game 1 of the Best-of-Seven series between the Millionaires and Terriers goes Friday, March 2nd in Yortkon at 7:30.
