STAMPEDERS RESPOND, BEAT BLIZZARD 3-1

After watching the Wayway Wolverines beat the Sherwood-leading Dauphin Kings the night before, putting the pressure back on them, the Swan Valley Stampeders beat the OCN Blizzard 3-1 in their final regular season home game.

The Stamps gave up the game's first goal when Brad Swampy scored less than 4 minutes in, but they'd bounce back with 2 goals under 2 minutes apart before the first period was done. Tony Partridge finished off a 2-on-1, and Riley Hiebert wristed a point shot home.

After a scoreless 2nd period, Kyle Smart scored on a late powerplay to give the Stamps and Jayson Argue all the insurance they would need.

Argue made 30/31 saves to get the win, while Matt Krahn, who was also up for Top Goalie and MVP with Argue, stopped 32/35.

DWAYNE KIRKUP'S POST GAME COMMENTS

The Stampeders have just one game left, and that's Friday in Dauphin.

A Wayway regulation loss tomorrow (FRI) in Neepawa, a Swan win in Dauphin tomorrow, or a Wayway loss to Dauphin on Saturday, would clinch the Stamps 3rd place and a date with OCN in Round 1 of the playoffs.

**BIG APOLOGY. I've been saying all week that Wayway @ Neepawa is tonight (THU). Not sure how that got in my head, possibly because they met LAST THURSDAY in Wayway. The game is definitely Friday in Neepawa.**

That seems like a lot that needs to go right for Wayway in order for the Wolverines to get in... but if the Wolverines can take care of business against the last place Natives in Neepawa, they would then need Swan to lose in Dauphin, and then have it come down to their final game on Saturday, where a win (or even an OT loss if Swan were to lose in regulation) would get them into the playoffs.

It's far from over!

Unfortuately Wednesday night was our last broadcast of the season. Would be great to do Friday and/or Saturday's games if they meant something!
