Good Start For Harvest

The Yorkton Harvest took 3 of a possible 4 points from the Battlefords Stars in their home-opening weekend with a 4-4 tie Saturday and a 6-3 win Sunday.

Saturday, John Odgers led the way offensively with 1g-1a, with Kade Halabuza, Ben Johnstone and Denin Boesch also scoring.

Kale Thomson stopped 23/27 shots in the win.

On Sunday, Spencer Bomboir was between the pipes for the Harvest, and got the win, stopping 22/25.

Yorkton scored 4 times in the first period, and Odgers had another 1g-1a effort, while Levi Cable topped the team with 3 points (1g-2a). Dustin Skilliter, Adam McCannell, Tanner Lesann and Dustin Minto made it six different goal-scorers for the Harvest, who now with with a record of 2-1-1-1, good for 6 points in 5 games played.

They're at home again on Thursday, against the undefeated Saskatoon Contacts. 8:00 at FAA.
