Into the Win Column!

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines have their first win of the 2010-2011 season, a 4-3 decision over the Winnipeg Blues on Sunday.

Paul Van de Velde had a goal and 2 assists, Shane Goodrunning had a goal and an assist, Ryan Duhaime and Braeden Raiwet also scored, and rookie Brett Pinkerton set up two goals.

They made it interesting, and nearly had a repeat performance of Friday against the Saints, when they Wolves blew a 4-0 lead and lost 5-4 in regulation. On Sunday, Wayway led the Blues 4-1 after 2 periods. Winnipeg made it 4-3 late in the third, and then got a late powerplay with over a minute left. Brett Gagnon preserved the Wolverines' first win of the season, making 18 saves.

Happened to notice on the game sheet that F Jordan Hirano was on Wayway's roster (and also played Saturday)... so the Wolverines and Yorkton obviously swung a deal.

The Wolverines are now 1-5-2 on the year, and welcome Swan Valley on Wednesday (7:20/7:30 GX94).

That's up to the Blues... but I'm not so sure he's reporting ANYWHERE.
