Wolverines Fall Short vs Terriers

Two short-handed goals were the difference as the Portage Terriers held off the Wayway Wolverines 4-3 last night.

Eric Delong opened the scoring while on the penalty kill, notching his 40th goal of the season, while Kajon McKay scored one of his two goals of the night, also short-handed, while Riley Nixdorf scored the game winner.

For the Wolverines, they made it exciting, erasing a 2-0 deficit thanks to goals by Richard Little and Niko Grose. Logan Dew rounded out the scoring with 1:55 remaining, but the Wolverines could not muster the tying goal.

Thanks to the OCN Blizzard, who also beat Neepawa last night, the Wolverines remain 3 points up on the Natives for fourth spot in the Sherwood.
