Apparently former Calgary Flame and Toronto Maple Leaf Lanny McDonald will be in the house in Estevan tonight. Everyone's asking me... "Will you get him on the radio?" Will if I can... I'm just thinking he wouldn't be there much before game time. Plus... I can't even imagine what my former broadcasting partner (now voice of the Bruins) Blaine Weyland's thinking in Estevan today. Think he slept last night? Blainer's certainly one of the biggest Flamer Fans I know. Yes I know I said Flamer. He probably just edges out Danny Ismond and Rae Groeneveld for the #1 spot in those rankings. I say this because he would actually TAPE regular season gam es against COLUMBUS... and watch them late at night after we got back from a game. So if Lanny's gotta chose between radio stations, I would defer to my buddy Blaine, for fear of my life more than anything.
Lanny aside, this is still a big one tonight in Estevan. Here are a few notes I just dug up.
- The Mils are 3-0 against Estevan this season, and have given up just 3 goals in the process.
- Estevan's 6-2-0-1 since acquiring Richard Jodoin from the Dauphin Kings. Jodoin had 9 points (5-4-9) in his first 4 games, but just a goal and an assist in his last 5.
- The Bruins are also 16-9-1 since November 1st.
- Melville, meantime, is 0-3 since the trade deadline. Since December 1st they're 8-7-1. 7-1 at home, 1-6-1 on the road.
- Logan Herauf is the only Millionaires player at or above a point-per-game on the road this season. He has 9-goals and 22-points in 22 road games.
