Canada Goes For Gold x 5
Just when you thought you've seen it all at the World Junior Hockey Championships... you see the game on Saturday night. After the Russians took and unnecessary icing, they had 2 chances to clear the puck, before a John Tavares desperation backhand was blocked in front, and Jordan Eberle went forehand to backhand and lifted it home with 5.4 seconds left to tie the game at 5. A 10-minute overtime dominated by Canada solved nothing, before Eberle and Tavares both scored in the shootout, and Dustin Tokarski stopped both Russian shooters to preserve the win. Unbelieveable.
Canada vs Sweden, 6:30 tonight on TSN... in a rematch of last year's Gold Medal Game which Canada won 3-2 in overtime.
