Kings Hold Off Stamps

For the third time this season, the Swan Valley Stampeders scored the first goal in Dauphin, but the Kings went on to score the next several, and wound up winning 7-4.

Justin Giesbrecht opened the scoring for Swan at the 9:37 mark, but Luke Stokotelny tied it 12 seconds later, and Troy Hunter gave the Kings the lead another 45 seconds later and they'd never give it up.

Giesbrecht added a pair of assists to his goal, while Craig Cornelson scored 2 goals and one assist and Brad McDonald also found the net for the Stampeders.

Dauphin had 7 different goal scorers, with Angus Klassen and Steve Shamanski each having 3 point nights.

Dauphin's won all 7 meetings against the Stampeders this season, they'll play the 8th and final tonight in Swan River starting at 7:30.
