Rough Start To Mils' Roadie

KINDERSLEY--

"Atrocious."

That was the word that jumped out in Jamie Fiesel's first sentence on tonight's post game show when describing the Mils' effort in a 2-1 loss in Kindersley, and I guess it sums it up.

Although the shots were 34-29 Melville, I thought it was a pretty lacklustre game from both sides... it was never really exciting until the Mils scored with less than 9 minutes left in the third and then pressed for the tying goal.

Kirk Pearce scored both Klipper goals, his 20th and 21st of the season, while Justin Perraux helped set up both goals. Tyler Murray scored on the powerplay for the Mils to make it a 2-1 game, from Matt Kinnunen and Jordan Reeve.

Ryan Neiszner got the win making 33 saves... Travis Bosch stopped 27 in the loss.

Tough way to kick off the road trip, as the Mils felt 3-for-3 was a reasonable goal... now they're off to Battleford tomorrow (FRIDAY) and Kindersley again on Saturday. Both on GX94.

------------------

Right after our Pre Game meal the Red Deer Rebels rolled in and ate, on their way to a weekend swing in Prince Albert and Saskatoon, and I had a chance to talk with ex-Yorkton Terrier Carter Smith... not on the radio or anything... just in the hotel lobby. Sounds like he's lovin' life back in the 'Dub, but also said he had a lot of fun in the SJ, and misses Yorkton... and still keeps in touch with the guys, including Greg Coburn.
