This "Site Meter" tool is a pretty cool thing. You may have noticed the little logo at the bottom of the site. I can't see WHO is looking at the site, nor do I want to, but I can see what CITY they're viewing it from, and how they got here. Example, if they clicked on my link on Darren Dupont's blog, it'll say darrendupont.blogspot.com as the referral. And what I find even cooler, is when people stumble across it on Google, it'll tell me that, and even what search words they typed in. You can see for yourself by clicking on it, no password is needed.
Anyway, back to my original point, I've had some hits from the Yorkton area, and from the Northeastern States in the last few days Google searching for the "Chowder Cup in Boston," or "2008 Chowder Cup Schedule," etc. And why are they landing here? There ISN'T a site for it! And if there is, I'm not seeing it. This is a BIG, 80-team tournament, one you'd think there'd be a website with at very least a schedule, or maybe even results. Guys are competing from across North America.
So, I did it the old fashioned way, the "telephone", and Terrier forward Cody Zubko informed me today the Northern Connecticut Wings are now 2-and-0 at the tournament, winning 4-3 on Thursday, and 4-1 this morning (FRI). Fellow Terrier Bryan Hull had a goal in each game. They play tomorrow (SAT) against the Canadian Future Pros (10:30AM Sk Time), and it's a 'win or go home' game. However if they do win, they're off to the quarterfinals later in the day. Semis and the final are on Sunday. I'll try and get the result via Facebook or text.
12 SJHL players are on this team... I'm not sure of all of them. All I know for sure from my conversations are the 4 Terriers (Zubko, Serdachny, Hull, Coburn), Kyle Stroh and Riley Tetreault (Estevan), Thomas Williams (Notre Dame) and Kyle Fraser (Melfort). I THINK Flin Flon's Carson Chubak's one of the goalies, but I could be out to lunch there. Rosters. Another thing that would look good on a website!
Have a good weekend! I'll be out and about watchin some ball most likely, it's supposed to be nice! I've been couching it tonight. Ichiro dropped what should have been the third out in the bottom of the 10th and a Seattle win, when "Joltin' Joe Inglett's liner to right bounced off his glove and plated a pair. Jays won 5-4. Edmonton beat Hamilton 16-13 in a "yawner", and Montreal's giving it to B.C. as I type.
Peace Out
