Southeast SK Men's Fastball Final Set

It's a Whitewood/Broadview final in the Southeast Men's Fastball League.

The two teams each completed series sweeps over Fleming teams last night (THU), with Whitewood blanking the Jr Jets 2-0, and Broadview finishing the upset over the first place Sr Jets with a 16-6 win in Game 2. In the first game of the series, the Buffs won just as handily on the road, 19-8. Broadview was the last place team (5th) in the regular season, meaning they also had to win a Best of Three Survivor Series over the Moosomin Magic just to get to the real playoffs.

"I don't think it's that surprising," says Buffs' shortstop Brennan Holloway. "Yeah, sure we were a last place team coming into the playoffs, but in this league anybody can beat anybody any night, and I think we proved that this series by really hammering Fleming."

Holloway expects the usually friendly TransCanada rivalry between Whitewood and Broadview to pick up as the final nears. He says they're looking at getting things started on Tuesday. It's the second place Whitewood Falcons and the fifth place Braodview Buffs meeting for all the marbles.
