Millionaires Likely To Sell at Deadline

It was a rather revealing Melville Millionaires Coach's Show with Jamie Fiesel today. The Mils' Coach/GM made it no secret that after losing their last four games before Christmas and falling further back of the pack, he expects to be a seller come the January 10th deadline, specifically naming Brayden Metz and Cody Hanson as key pieces likely on the trade block.

"It definitely is (the way we'll be going) now. I think it was 6 years ago, the last time we re-built. It helped us for the next 5 years, we had a great run, put some pennants up, we never got that championship but we had a few good cracks at it. I want to be a contender each year, I don't want to be fighting just to make the playoffs, and the reality is, that's what we're doing right now, and it's not enough for me, and it's not enough for our fans. We do have some assets with Metz and Hanson, our 20 year olds. There aren't a lot of sellers out there so you can get some good, young players in return. We don't have the resources at the deadline to load up again. We're going into a new rink, and we want to be real good going in there, so maybe it's time to understand where we're at and get what we can."

"We've talked to both of them (Metz and Hanson). I get along really well with both guys and they understand the situation as well. We've got some offers from some teams already, and we're looking at that. First, we'll play the Yorkton Terriers with a full lineup, and after that we'll re-assess where we're at, and I'm sure by January 10th there'll be some changes."

"It starts with the coaching staff. I take pride when we're ranked 11th or 12th at the start of the year, like we seem to be every year, and being able to move our team up from that, but I haven't been able to do that this year and that's disappointing. The realization that we maybe aren't as good as we thought we were, it's tough to take."
