The Yorkton Terriers are now 5 points up on the Melville Millionaires for 4th spot in the SJHL Sherwood Conference after a 3-2 win over Humboldt, and a 5-3 Melville loss to Notre Dame.
Newcomer Troy Smukowich scored his first as a Terrier, Ryan Griffiths scored again, giving him 2 goals and 3 assists in 5 games, while rookie Riley Patterson notched the winner.
Devin Peters made 23/25 saves as the Terriers out-shot the Broncos 40-25.

Austin Krahenbil scored for Melville 18 seconds into the hockey game, the Mils dominated the opening 10 minutes, but the play shifted the other way the rest of the first period and the Notre Dame Hounds scored three times, and eventually led 4-1 after two periods.
After over 15 minutes of really nothing happening in the third, the Mils seemed to wake up again, scoring twice within 56 seconds thanks to Matt Kinnunen and Logan Herauf.
They then got a late powerplay, but with the goalie out, the Hounds iced it with an empty netter... 5-3 final score.

The Swan Valley Stampeders bounced back and got a split with OCN in their home and home, following Tuesday's 1-0 loss with a 5-1 win on home ice on Wednesday.
Unable to solve Blizzard goalie David Aime with 45 shots the night before, the Stamps scored 5 times on 36 shots at home, while Caden Unger stepped up and made 40/41 saves for Swan Valley, running his unbeaten record to 9-0-0-2, along with a tidy 2.22 GAA and .925%.
Ryan Marshall had a 4-point night with 1g-3a, Carter Selinger scored twice, Paul Bonar had 1g, 1a, and Brad McDonald rounded out the scoring.
The Stamps get their 30th win of the season in their 50th game of the year, improving to 30-15-2-3.
Swan Valley now gets an 8 day break before going to Winnipeg South next Thursday, January 28th (on GX94).
Neepawa also won on Wednesday, 4-3 in Winkler, while Portage was idle. The Stamps have 65 points... Portage has 54, Neepawa 53. The Terriers and Natives both have 3 games in hand on Swan Valley.

Yes, another great win by the Stampeders. Good to see them bounce back after Tuesdays game in OCN.
Caden Unger's stats should actually read 9-0-1-2. No big deal though-- he's done an amazing job with our club since coming here in mid-October!
Yeah Guy mentioned he's missing a game in his stats, which probably means his GAA and % are a little different too... but still, nice to have two quality tenders.
True enough
