- Despite Nipawin being last in the Bauer, and Yorkton 4th in the Sherwood, the Hawks have a slightly better record and winning percentage.
- Yorkton's played 9 games in January, and they've all essentially been 1-goal games. Only a 3-1 loss to La Ronge was by more than that, but the Wolves scored into an empty net with 2 seconds left. They're 3-5-0-1 in January, and 12-and-12 in 1-goal games this season.
- Both season series matchups so far have seen Yorkton's Luke Boechler and Nipawin's Brody Hoffman in goal. Ryan Kerpan's the new #1 in Nipawin, and the Terriers might not mind NOT seeing Hoffman (if that's the case), who's got a 2.50 GAA and a .946%, stopping 87 of 92 shots in 2 games vs Yorkton.
- Yorkton's had trouble scoring on the road this season. Jordan Menke's 11 points and Nick Dietrich's 5 goals lead the Terriers in 23 road games.
- Newcomer Ryan Griffiths has 2g-3a-5p in 5 games since coming to Yorkton from Swan Valley.
- This will be Hawks' F David Skagen's first game against his old team. Given a top-six role in Nipawin, Skagen's got 10g-10a-20p in 13 games, after putting up 4g-10a-14p in 25 games in Yorkton.
- Special teams could be a huge story tonight. The Hawks, although last in their Conference, hold the SJHL's top Powerplay, at 22.3%, and they'll go up the against the Terriers' league-best PK, which checks in at 85.4%. Yorkton's PP is last in the league at 15.4%, but Nipawin's PK's also been nothing too special, clicking at 77.7%, or 10th in the league.
