Melville Takes Over 4th Spot

For the first time in a long time, the Melville Millionaires are in 4th place by themselves in the SJHL Sherwood Conference, after a 4-2 win over the Nipawin Hawks, extending their winning streak to three games.

The Mils were briefly tied with the Yorkton Terriers for 4th after beating the Terriers on New Years Day, but Yorkton downed Melville the next night to get sole possession back, and had it ever since.

Melville scored 4 consecutive goals after going down 2-0 to the Hawks. Jordan Reeve started the comeback with a short-handed goal late in the second period, Mike Rogoschewsky (pictured) tied it, Austin Krahenbil scored the winner, and Brayden Metz iced it on a late powerplay.

Deszi Wiens made 40/42 saves for his 3rd straight win.

The Mils are now off for a week, returning to action Tuesday in Estevan. Yorkton's got two cracks at getting 4th place back in the meantime, as they travel to Flin Flon Friday/Saturday.

The Terriers and Mils each have 48 games played, 10 remaining. Yorkton has 6 at home, 4 on the road, Melville has 3 at home, 7 on the road. They play each other February 5th (YOR) and 6th (MVL).
