Three days away from January 10th, and I really don't see a whole lot of blockbusters happening. I think December 1st was more exciting than January 10th will be, but we'll see what happens.
The Estevan Bruins have already traded Colton MacPherson and Liam Brennan (La Ronge), Brody Haygarth (Flin Flon), Davis Brown (Weyburn) and Brant Harris (Melfort), but their best player is still there, and all indications are they will be moving Chad Filteau (pictured) by the deadline. I'm sure Weyburn's interested in the Sherwood, and probably more than a couple Bauer clubs.
A lot of rumours are also out there about 1990 F Devan Stillar in Melfort. He's been sitting for a while, we'll see what happens there. He's certainly been one of their top guys the last two seasons and is still eligible to play next year.
The Melville Millionaires sound like they're young enough and likely won't be selling the rest of the farm. Any contender would love to have tough grinding forwards who can put the puck in the net like 20 year olds Matt Kinnunen and Michael Jordan, but Jaime Fiesel says the 20 year olds they have now will likely be staying, as they feel they've still got as good a chance as anyone to make a little noise in the post season.
Because everyone aside from Estevan is at or close to .500, I just don't see very much "selling" going on in the SJHL this weekend.

In the MJHL, the Wayway Wolverines aren't in the playoff picture, but they have two very good 20 year old forwards at about a point-per-game in Niko Grose (pictured) and Ryan Regel. Coach/GM Barry Butler said this week neither player is very keen on moving elsewhere though, so we'll have to wait and see.
Winkler D Caleb Suderman has apparently left the team and is awaiting a trade also.

Thought it was interesting to see what I posted this time last year. Some things I thought might happen, happened, while some didn't. Have a read if you have time.
