The 2009-10 season did not start as well for the Melville Millionaires, who blew a 2-0 lead and fell 4-3 to the Estevan Bruins on home ice.
Logan Herauf and Aaron Decorby scored 20 seconds apart in the first period, but Brody Haygarth and Liam Brennan answered, also scoring 20 seconds apart later in the period to tie it. Chad Filteau and Haygarth made it 4-2, before Dane Bonish got the Mils to within one late in the third. Michael Desjarlais had two assists for Melville, and his line with Decorby and Herauf combined for 6 points.
Riley Hengen burned his old team, making 35 saves in the Bruins' cage, while Brady Wilyman stopped 25/29 for Melville.

In the MJHL... Chris Ward made 34 saves, but his Swan Valley Stampeders couldn't supply any offense in a 2-0 loss in Selkirk. Wes Pawluk scored both Steeler goals.

Mils fans were running the smack on the Terriers on the SJHL Board today but they are no shows there tonight.
Good start to the 2009/10 season.
