It was an unorthodox split for the Melville Millionaires, who lost at home, and then won on the road in Estevan Saturday night. The Mils won the back half of the home-and-home 5-1.Once again Melville's line of Aaron Decorby (pictured; 2g, 1a), Logan Herauf (2g, 1a) and Michael Desjarlais (1g, 1a) led the way offensively, combining for all 5 goals and 8 points. In their first two games the line's scored 7 goals and 14 points. Austin Krahenbil added a pair of helpers from the blueline, and Brady Wilyman evened his record with a 25 save performance. Derek Tendler allowed all 5 goals in net for Estevan, while former Millionaire Riley Hengen, who burned his former club on Friday night, was perfect coming on in relief during the second half of Saturday's rematch.

The Yorkton Terriers are also 1-and-1 after a 5-1 loss Saturday in Weyburn. The Terriers' lone goal came from Jordan Menke, as they were out-shot 45-28 on the night.
Yorkton's back on the road this Tuesday and Wednesday in Nipawin and Humboldt. Both games can be heard on GX94.
The amazing thing after opening weekend in the SJHL... is all 12 teams were involved in home and homes, and all 12 have at least 1 point in the standings... and 11 of the 12 teams have wins. Only Nipawin does not, and they picked up an OT loss in La Ronge on Saturday. La Ronge leads all teams with 2 wins over Nipawin. Humboldt and Notre Dame have 3 points each, having split a home and home against each other, with each team winning on the road, 3-2 in a shootout. Looks like a statement from the Hounds that they're a different team this season. Everyone else went 1-and-1.
*Kindersley's Jordan Braid had (1g 4a) 5 points in a 9-5 loss to Battlefords on Saturday. Braid, and teammate Travis Eggum lead the league with 7 pts each through just 2 games.

In the MJHL, the Swan Valley Stampeders improved to 3-and-2 with a 4-3 win in Steinbach. Ryan Marshall scored his 4th of the season and added 2 assists, Darcy Riddell notched a pair, also giving him 4 on the year, while Brent Wilson had a goal and an assist.
The Wayway Wolverines fell to 0-and-2 with a 4-2 loss at home against the Blues. The Wolverines led 2-0 early in the first on goals by Niko Grose and Jared McCarthy, but the offense would end there, and the Blues scored 3 third period goals to come from behind. Wayway's home again on Sunday against OCN, who lost 2-1 in Dauphin Saturday night.
