Terrier Intra-Squad Game

Well, I'm not winning any Jack Adams Awards anytime soon, after my Team Black fell 7-0 to Team Orange at tonight's Yorkton Terriers' Black & Orange Game.

"Well, I mean, 7-0 doesn't reflect the game that it was tonight, I thought our boys battled from start to finish, 110%, all lines were firing. We just ran into a hot goalie. Two actually. But 7-0 was not in anyway indicative of our play," a dejected Coach Stein "cliched" after the game.

Yeah I'll just stick to my day job.

Here's a game summary which I kept while coaching. Gee maybe that's why we lost...?

First Period
Orange: Torey Stott (Brenden Stephen)

Second Period
Orange: Shawn Shackleton (Curtis Veitch)
Orange: Kevin Cann (Jordan Menke)

Third Period
Orange: Kevin Cann 2 (Jordan Menke)
Orange: Riley Paterson (Brody Brewster, Kurtis Decker)
Orange: Cody Zubko (U/A) (SH)
Orange: Terrence Shewchuk (Joel Ballard, Harrison Hendrix)

In Goal
Orange: Devin Peters/Jake Mandin (SO)
Black: Luke Boechler 1 GA / Braeden Johnson 6 GA

I had a quick chat with Kevin Cann of Team Orange who scored twice in the win.

It was news to me, but maybe not to everyone... that the Terriers now have 20-year-old forward Steven Robinson. Robinson spent the last two seasons with the Notre Dame Hounds, and scored 3-goals and 10-assists for 13-points last season, and 6-goals and 22-assists for 28-points the year before.

David Skagen did not take part in the Black & Orange game, neither did Rylan McDonnell, who took a stick in the face earlier in camp. Also suffering injuries during camp were 1991 F Brent Struble and 1991 D Scott Bollefer. Since I coached today, I'll just say they were upper-to-lower-to-mid-body injuries and they're expected to be out anywhere from day-to-day to indefinitely.

Coach/GM Ed Zawatsky will join us tomorrow at 10:40 for the Yorkton Terriers' Coach's Show. I'll post the interview here in the morning as well.
