Make it 3 straight wins for the Yorkton Cardinals.The Cards passed their first Alberta test of the season with flying colours, with a 4-1 win over the Lethbridge Bulls.
First baseman Andrew Haake continued his run-producing, going 2-for-3 with 2 RBI's his 9th and 10th of the season. The next highest Cardinal has 4 RBI's. Aside from Runs Batted In, Haake also leads the club with a .342 batting average, 13 hits, 5 doubles, 2 home runs, 24 total bases and a .632 slugging percentage.
Also last night, Felix Brown was 1-for-3 with a run scored... Josh Simms 1-for-2 with an RBI.
On the mound, Levi Rhoades got the win, going 7 and 2 thirds, one run on 6 hits, struck out 3.
Then closer Chris Byford pitched the final inning and a third... struck out all four batters he faced.
Cardinals are now 7-and-5, first place in the East Division... they host league-leading Swift Current tonight (FRI) and tomorrow. Lethbridge is back in town Sunday.
