===============

It's wedding season (and I'm part of it this year), and starting today I'm out of town every weekend for a long, long time. I've got the bachelor party in Saskatoon tomorrow for starters, then 3 different weddings in consecutive weeks in July, mine being the third. Despite several married men and their "don't do it!" advice... I think I'm still going through with it! They're just joking around anyway. Aren't they?

So obviously I won't be at tonight's Cards/Mils game in Melville, but I'm looking forward to the Canada Day matchup in Yorkton. It's a 7:05 start... I was kinda hoping for 2:00... Oh well.

I'm going home to the farm tonight, mainly so I don't spend $$$ two nights in a row... and to watch the NHL Draft. As a Leafs' fan, even if Brian Burke doesn't do what he wants (move up, get Tavares), he's sure making it interesting with all the trade talk and draft talk. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see Tavares wear Blue & White, I'm just not as optimistic as "some" Leaf fans. *Cough* Ron Rimer *Cough*. One trade rumour has the Leafs sending Kaberle AND their 7th overall pick to Boston for Phil Kessel. It it was Kaberle/Kessel straight up then fine, but that's too big a price with their first rounder I think.

Can the Islanders seriously justify NOT taking Tavares? Rumour has it they might take Matt Duchene. If they think they need a defenseman, then you can understand going with Hedman over Tavares, but Garth Snow can't tell me Duchene's a better forward than JT. The Islanders are a goofy organization though... if a two-way centre's their cup of tea instead of a perennial 40-50 goal guy... that's fine. They did pass on Dany Heatley last time they held the #1 pick... another perennial 40-50 guy.
