Cardinals Get 'er Done With Small Ball

Aside from the Yorkton-Moose Jaw marathon of June 2nd that's still 7-7 after 18 innings (will be completed this Saturday)... the Yorkton Cardinals, in their 5th full game of the season last (TUE) night, scored a season-high 3 runs, to edge the Regina Red Sox 3-2 on the road. So far the Cardinals have lost 2-1, won 1-0, won 2-1, lost 3-2, and now won 3-2. They've scored, and given up just 9 runs in five games... but are now 3-and-2 to lead the East Division.

Mark Magdaleno went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored, and drove in the game-winning run in the top of the 9th.

The Cardinals are off until Friday, when they'll start officially a 5 game, 3 day stretch. They'll host Regina Friday, then welcome Moose Jaw for a full game and the completion of that June 2nd showdown. Then Sunday they're off to Weyburn for an afternoon double header.
