Broncos 2 @ Mils 1 (Again)

I've never felt so bad for a team as I do right now.

The Melville Millionaires dominated, for almost 60 minutes, the Humboldt Broncos in Game 4, and came out on the short end of a 2-1 decision. The entire third period was played in the Broncos' end, with the Mils out-shooing Humboldt 12-5 in the final frame, and 33-23 on the night. Despite it all, the Millionaires weren't able to muster the tying goal, and Tanner Vandesype's PP goal :52 into the second period stood up as the game winner. Spencer Braaten and Shane Stanicky (looked like Jeremie Houde's goal) scored for their respective clubs within the first 5 minutes of the first period.

Give credit where credit is due. Matt Larochelle has been the story of the series in the Bronco cage, making 32 saves for his third straight win. The Mils have out-shot Humboldt in all 4 games, and Larochelle's made over 30 saves in all of them, posting a 1.47 GAA and a .955% in the series.

Melville played an outstanding second period for the first time all series, out-chancing the Broncos, and hit 2 posts, including Cody Hanson on a breakaway.

If I had to bet my life on who'll come out on top, now that the Broncos are up 3-1, obviously I'd be going with Humboldt, but I really believe the Mils have the ability to battle back and do what the Broncos did to Kindersley in last year's final, winning 3-straight to take the series in 7. It won't be easy, infact it's probably a little far-fetched, but Tuesday's Game 5 is massive. I think if the Mils can send the series back to the Vault for Game 6 on Friday, anything can happen.

There's no question it's disheartening to out-play the opposition and lose, but I have no doubt the Mis' 9 dressed 20-year-olds will be playing balls-out hockey on Tuesday. Hopefully at the very least they can give their faithful fans another game on home ice... and then, who knows.

This is an outstanding series to witness though. Honestly with one bounce the other way in each game, Humboldt could have swept by now, Melville could have been up 3-1 or even swept, or it could be 2-2, but the Broncs are up 3-1 and give 'em credit... they're champions and they're finding a way.

Have a good night... I'll talk to you Tuesday in Humboldt, hopefully NOT for the last time this season... I'm having too much fun to be done calling games.

Craig I am willing to bet that is a Humboldt fan trying to be a Weyburn fan. Just a thought.

Typical child-like comment from a Wing fan...like there isn't enough of that on the SJ forum site.

Quite possibly Brad, that's the problem you run into with anonymous posters. Weyburn fans are 99.9% great, just like the rest of the teams... a few bad apples in every bunch.

It almost made me sick to walk out of the stadium after game 4. When you see the guys working so hard out there and outplaying the Bronco's...and still end up loseing. I was there in 2003 and there in 2007... why can't the blue have a better fate? Its tough to swallow! The series isn't over, if the mils keep playing like they did in game 4 the bounces are bound to come... right??

wow very dissapointing....mils can't buy a break right now...Hopefully they can pull of a Miracle?

mils4life, perhaps the miracle so far has been that the Broncos have won 3 straight in this series. No reason why the Mils can't do the same. The Broncos are not as superior as most think, they can be beaten. It's a lot like the last series vs. the Wings, either team could've came out of that series.

Feissel is in over his head. Brockman could out coach him in his sleep. One lucky bounce off a broken stick gave them the only win they will see in this series. hoping for a miracle? I would save that for something like curing cancer, but than again if I lived in Melville.....ahhh never mind.
maybe next year, then again maybe not.

first you spelled fiesel wrong. And Feez is a coach that has alot of heart and cares about this team brockman would be saying the same if he was in the same situation.
