Wings Stay Alive

The Weyburn Red Wings took a page out of the Melville Millionaires' book, overcoming a 2-goal deficit, scoring 4 straight goals for a 4-2 win on home ice, sending the series back to Melville for Game 6 tonight (SUN).

Kale Dolinski (PP), and Brayden Metz (4-on-4) gave the Mils a 2-0 lead after one. Preston Shupe scored on the powerplay for Weyburn in the second, then Torrey Lindsay, Brayden Nargang and Nick Needham (EN), all scored in the third, and all unassisted.

Shots on goal were 33-33.

The big story is the Mils lost their Captain Daniel Hope in the first period, with what appears to be his second concussion of the playoffs. Hope is not expected to play again in the series, and his status is very much in question for the league final, should the Mils get through the South Final.

Game time tonight (SUN) is 7:30 at Melville Stadium, Pre Game Show at 7:15. If necessary, Game 7's back in Weyburn on Tuesday.
