The Melville Millionaires didn't lead Game 4 until there were 13.1 seconds left, and they won 4-3 to take a 3-1 series lead over the Yorkton Terriers.
The Terriers played a heck of a road game for 59 minutes, setting the tone early when Brenden Poncelet, reunited with Nathan Murray and Riley Paterson, scored just 14 seconds in, and it stayed 1-0 Yorkton after the first period.
Sean Aschim finished a beautiful tic-tac-toe play, taking a nifty feed from Adam Dibella to tie it just 2:22 into the second period.
The Terriers got the lead back on a second period powerplay. It was a weird one from my angle... Blake Voth made a save off Curtis Oliver, used a poke-check, and I think it bounced off Oliver again and in. Lucas Froese would get the Millionaires back on even terms, after Ian McNulty centered it out front, and front chipped home a backhand.
Brent Struble used some outstanding hand-eye to give the Terriers their third lead of the game. It looked like Chase Norrish's point shot was going wide, and Struble, on his backhand, changed the direction of the puck, into the back of the net for a beauty.
Then, inside the final minute, McNulty took the game over. The league's second leading scorer in the regular season banged home a rebound after Froese did a lot of the work to get the puck into the attacking zone. Then, 31 seconds later, McNulty struck again, pulling out a bag of tricks between centre ice and the Terrier net, scoring with 13.1 to play to make it 4-3.
Game 5 goes Friday in Yorkton... and with the Millionaires winning and making it a 3-1 series... we'll have that one in its entirety. Swan lost 5-2 to OCN, and that series is tied 2-2, so we'll pick up that series again with Game 6 Sunday in Swan.
