ALL EVEN NOW

After Wayway's 5-1 win over the Neepawa Natives on Thursday night, the Wolverines and the Swan Valley Stampeders now have identical 23-26-8 records, deadlocking them at 54 points for the final playoff spot in the MJHL.

Shane Goodrunning led the charge, racking up four points with a goal and three assists. Richard Little and Zaine Walker both had a goal and an assist, Connor Pennell set up a pair, while Russell Turner and Marty McFadden also scored.

Cory Simons wasn't near as busy as he was on Tuesday, making 13/14 saves for Wayway's 3rd straight win.

The Wolverines & Stampeders both have 5 games left, and two of them are head-to-head, both will be on GX94, this Saturday and Monday.

Before that, Swan's off to Neepawa tonight (Friday), also on the air... so the Wolverines will hold a game in hand heading into the Family Day Long Weekend home and home.

At the midway point of the season it looked like these MJHL broadcast at the end of the season might not mean anything... but now I'm looking like a scheduling genious!!

Remaining Games:

Swan Valley
Fri/Feb/17: @ Neepawa (GX94)
Sat/Feb/18: vs Wayway (GX94)
Mon/Feb/20: @ Wayway (GX94)
Wed/Feb/22: vs OCN (GX94)
Fri/Feb/24: @ Dauphin

Waywayseecappo
Sat/Feb/18: @ Swan Valley (GX94)
Mon/Feb/20: vs Swan Valley (GX94)
Tue/Feb/21: @ Dauphin (GX94)
Fri/Feb/24: @ Neepawa
Sat/Feb/25: vs Dauphin

I couldn't schedule any MJ games on the 24th or 25th, incase Yorkton and/or Melville were in the SJHL Survivor Series, which starts that weekend... and, they're not.

Mini edge to Swan for remaining schedule? Opponents almost the same, Wayway has two Dauphin's Swan has one, and an OCN. Both have one Neepawa and two head to heads. Both have 2 home & 3 on the road. It'll come down to the head to head games, like we thought and hoped it would.

Honestly I'll probably be more devastated for whichever team misses the playoffs than I'll be excited for who gets in at first, because they're both scratching and clawing to get im. But, regardless who gets in, I'm excited to call my first playoff games in OCN at GX94, and to see if one of our local MJ teams can surprise anyone and make a little noise this post season.
