Cards/Mils Wrap Up 3-Game Set

Due to a rain-out, the Yorkton Cardinals and Melville Millionaires went head-to-head three nights in a row, Sunday-Monday-Tuesday.

A seven-run 8th inning propelled the Cardinals to a 12-7 win over the Millionaires last night, giving Yorkton their first win of the season against Melville in 5 tries.

LF Jon Mihic ripped his first HR of the season, a 3-run shot in the first inning, Kevin McLeod was 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI's, while newcomer Zach Bott made his Cardinal debut, going 2-for-5 with an RBI and 2 runs scored.

The Millionaires had their bats going in the loss too, lacing 15 hits, including Jon Clark's team-leading 4th of the year. Clark was 3-for-5 with 3 RBI's... lead-off man Matt Helms had another huge night goign 3-for-5 with 3 runs.

In their last 3 games against Yorkton... Helms went a combined 10-for-16 at the plate, and scored 9 runs.

The Mils are back to .500 at 10-and-10... the Cards are 5-and-15 with the win. Yorkton's home to Weyburn tonight, while the Mils are off.
