OT Theme Continues in MJHL Playoff Opener

Well that looked familiar!

Much like the Melville Millionaires, the Swan Valley Stampeders trailed by 2 goals, before coming back to tie and force overtime against the Portage Terriers, before losing Game 1 4-3 in double overtime.

Down 2-0 in the second period, Jeff Peel cut it to 2-1 after two periods. Dylan Trowell tied it in the third, before Brendan Harms gave the Terriers the lead right back, less than 2 minutes later on a powerplay. The Stamps took another penalty with 45 seconds left, had a faceoff in their own end, and Brent Wilson went coast-to-coast, threw it on net, before Beau Taylor tied it up again with 25 seconds left.

The Stamps killed the remainder of that penalty in overtime, and a second PK in the first OT.

Tanner Waldvogel potted the winner midway into the second OT, and the Terriers take a 1-0 series lead.

After another multiple overtime... I decided to stay the night in Portage... as this post comes to you from Canad Inns in Portage la Prairie. Off to Yorkton in the morning, and to Melville by 2:30 to join the Millionaires on their way to Estevan for Game 5.

Cant wait for that one!
