Wolverines Continue Winning Ways

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines are making a late-season statement, that not only are they capable of MAKING the playoffs, but that they can give anyone a run for their money when/if they get there, whether they're in the Sherwood, or in the Addison through the crossover.

After going 9-2-1 in January, the Wolverines have now won 5 straight games, and have points in 8 consecutive contests, with a 5-3 win over the Dauphin Kings Sunday in Wayway. The Wolverines play 7 home games, and 4 on the road in the month of February, in their final 11 games. They host the OCN Blizzard this coming Wednesday and Thursday.

In Winkler, the Swan Valley Stampeders opened the scoring on a first period marker from Brad McDonald, but gave up the next three, in 3-1 loss to the Flyers. The Stamps return home with one of a possible six points on their road trip.

The Stamps play 11 games in February, 7 of which are away from home. All 11 are against divisional opponents. Swan's off until Friday when they hit the road again for Neepawa, they turn around and host the Natives the following night.

OCN also did both Wayway and Swan favours on Sunday, doubling Neepawa 4-2 up north. That leaves Swan in 4th with 55 points, Wayway with 54, and Neepawa with 49.

With Monday an "off-day" in the Junior ranks, I'll take a closer look at the playoff races in both leagues at that time.

I just have a pair of broadcasts this week... Junior 'B' Friday in Lebret as Ochapowace welcomes Pilot Butte... and Friday in Melville as the Mils host the Terriers to kick off the final Highway 10 home-and-home of the season.

We'll tee up the weekend Thursday with our last Robin's Roundtable of the season from 7:00 - 7:30 in Melville.
