Canada West Moves On!

Clarke Breitkreuz and Ryan Marshall each had assists as Team Canada West held on for a 3-2 win over Sweden in their World Jr 'A' Challenge Quarter-Final in Penticton.

Canada West is off to the semis against the United States on Saturday. The other semi features Canada East up against Switzerland.

The fifth place game goes today (FRI), and features Russia up against Sweden. Both teams are winless at the event.

Breitkreuz (Yorkton Terriers) has 3-assists in the tournament. Marshall (Swan Valley Stampeders) has 2A.

Cell phone policy is strict over there, but I'll try my darndest to catch up with one or both of them today!

I know Craig won't post this, but Beikreitz first assist was a rebound off the boards and a couple of players and his second assist went off a team mates skates, so I would,t say there was much skill involved and he almost cost the tying goal, with being in the penaly box last minute of the game, just stating facts.

I'll post it, only to make you look like an idiot, whoever you are (if your grammar/spelling didn't already take care of that).

Why must you pick apart a local player representing his country? Who cares how he got his points?

He was there last year and took a spot away from someone else, he had his chance.I didn't know you were so fussy on grammer, its just a blog. But I guess you couldn't argue the facts, so you picked spelling and grammar.

?????

They can have five 19 year olds so why not take guys with experience?

No I can't argue your "facts" because I'm not in Penticton and don't know exactly how he's playing, and didn't watch the games online. The FACTS are he's the captain of Team West and has a point per game... not sure what you've got against the guy.

I'm not a big Breitkeuz fan, but he must be doing something right to be named the Captain of Team West. A point per game is a point per game!

But he had his chance last year and he played WHL, time for another kid to have a chance.

obviously this guy has some kind of beef because you dont just give another kid a chance if you think thats what hockey is..... a free ride... you might as well go curling or some other sport... no offense curlers haha

His kid must have been cut in favor of someone on the team and he is picking on Breitkreuz just because he doesn't like him.

I don't much care for the kid either (and I am a Terrier supporter) but he is a solid player and has the experience. Good for Clarke, keep picking up the points and keep leading Canada West to wins!

Maturity is a good thing to have.

what in the h are you talking about free ride?

Hey Craig I am not calling down your little buddy Beikritz but that's why he shouldn't been on the team they never got it done last year, so they should of picked all new guys this year, maybe they could of did something.

Hey anonymous, welcome back!

Yes his goal and three assists in 4 games is unacceptable, clearly a rookie should have taken his spot.

Maybe look at a roster and learn how to spell guys' names at least before ripping them from your computer...

His short handed goal.

Oh, and whoever you are, the US roster is full of USHL kids. The USHL is a bit higher than the Canadian Junior A leagues. Its mainly for players who want to keep college open and play in their home country (ot for solid players like Schwarts, Vanek, etc to play against higher/stronger competition to prepare for college and university, or pro opposition).

Grow up and stop bashing a kid who has done nothing but produce.

Maybe rip the guys who were not on the team last season who have done nothing offensively?

Or just leave them all alone because they all played their best, suited up for their country (or atleast their side of the country!).

Its not their fault they made the team over you or your kid.

Ok I quit your right it was a unreal showing by our local guy.

Craig just thought I would let you know Bourhis is out with a mild concussion. But he would look good on the Terrier blue line or maybe even on the wing, him and Vick would be tough on the opposition.
