Byczynski Sets Up 6, Stamps Hammer Blues

Clark Byczynski racked up 6 assists, as the Swan Valley Stampeders downed the Winnipeg Blues 8-2 on Saturday.

Shelby Gray scored twice, his 16th and 17th of the season, and added a pair of assists. Landon Peel and Tony Partridge also scored two each, while Connor Pennell and Jeff Riddell added singles.

Byczynski leads all MJHL Defensemen in points now, with 25 (6g-19a).

The Stamps are off until Friday, when they start yet another home and home with Dauphin. Friday's game in Dauphin's on GX94.

Dauphin lost to Neepawa Saturday, which puts the Kings a game below .500, and they're 0-4 against Swan so far this season.

Wayway had Saturday off, and host Winkler on Sunday afternoon. The Flyers lost in Swan Valley on Friday, and in OCN on Saturday, and finish up that tough trip looking for a win on Sunday. A win for the Wolverines would get them back to .500, and leave them tied for 5th with Dauphin, with a game in hand.

Brent Struble scored twice and added one assist, leading the Yorkton Terriers to a 4-3 win in Flin Flon. The Terriers return home with a split, after dropping a close one the night before.

Craig Eisenhut had a goal and an assist for the Terriers, while Nathan Murray scored the winner early in the third. Warren Shymko got the win, making 29/32 saves.

Are the Riders back? Or just fooling us?

They beat an Edmonton team that was fighting for their playoff lives, so I think it's encouraging, and a game they needed to win to have a little confidence heading into the playoffs. The Riders host B.C. next Sunday in the West Semi Final.
