Stamps Earn a Point, Mils Fall at Home

The Swan Valley Stampeders had first period goals from Shelby Gray and Ryan Marshall (SH) to lead 2-0 after 20, but would up losing 3-2 in OT to the Selkirk Steelers.

Jayson Argue made 39/42 saves.

That's the Stamps first loss on home ice this season, although it did come in OT... so in my books, they're still unbeaten at home. They're now 9-3-1 on the season, and with OCN's first loss of the season, Friday against the Saints, the Stampeders now have a 2 point cushion atop the Sherwood Division.

-----------------

The La Ronge Ice Wolves fired 50 pucks at Melville's Zach Rakochy, and former Millionaire Logan Herauf iced it with :40 left, as the Ice Wolves beat the Millionaires 5-3 at Melville Stadium on Friday.

It was a great start for the Millionaires, who got the game's first goal from Brayden Metz just :42 seconds in. Newcomer Lucas Froese picked up an assist in his first shift as a Millionaire. Doug Lindensmith tied it for La Ronge just 23 seconds later.

Froese added a goal for the Millionaires, as did Michael Rogoschewsky (SH). Rakochy made 45 saves in the loss.

The Mils fall to 3-7-0-1, and are now off until next week when they have a Tuesday/Wednesday swing to Nipawin and Melfort.

Yes, Marshall scored his 1st goal of the season, but within 10 minutes of his goal, he got injured (didn't exactly see how) and didn't finish the game. After the game I saw him on crutches, and apparently it has something to do with his ankle.
Peel's also out with a lower-body injury; Partridge is finally back though.
