Great Showcase For Stamps & Wolves

The Swan Valley Stampeders and Wayway Wolverines combined to get 7 of a possible 8 points over the weekend, with the Stamps a perfect 2-0, and the Wolverines with a win and a SO loss.

On Saturday, the Brad McDonald had a goal and an assist, and the shootout winner as the Stampeders beat Selkirk 4-3 (SO). Tyler O'Connor and newcomer Hugo Allard scored the other goals, while Dylan Wells made 48/51 saves.

Needless to say, Wells has been on his game, and led the Stampeders to wins over the top two teams in the Addison, in Winkler and Selkirk.

Defenseman Dylan Trowell had a pair of assists for the Stamps, who return home Wednesday when they welcome Wayway (7:20 / 7:30 GX94).

The Wayway Wolverines had their 3 game winning streak snapped, but still picked up a point, falling 4-3 in OT to the Winnipeg Saints on Saturday.

It was the second time in a week the Saints pulled out a late comeback against the Wolverines, scoring twice in the third period to force overtime, and got the winner with just 10 seconds left in the extra frame.

The Wolverines were led by Paul Van de Velde, who had a goal and an assist. Zach Sweet and Ashley Howie also had goals.

**Four of the five games at the Showcase on Saturday went to Overtime, including 3 to a shootout.
