Sick Bay

My nasty head/chest cold is ALMOST gone... and while I'm healthier than I was last week, I figured I'd stay home and try to kick this thing today, with 3 broadcasts in the next four nights, starting tomorrow.

We're with the Millionaires in Estevan tomorrow (TUE), with Swan in Dauphin Wednesday, and then we'll have Yorkton's home game against Estevan on Friday. Then I believe that's it until Monday when Yorkton's in Notre Dame.

My wife (who's on maternity leave) now has my cold as well, and we made a homemade soup for lunch today with every vegetable in the book! I think leftovers are on the menu for supper. Gotta get better!

I do get a few requests for more pictures of the little one (no not just from family!). Here's one from yesterday, when we spent part of a beauty Sunday afternoon in the backyard.

Bailey's a tad over 4 months old, about 15 lbs, and gets her dreaded 4 month needles this Thursday. They were supposed to be last Wednesday, but Dad had to do a hockey game in Melfort! She did good with the 2 month shots, and I'm sure Thursday will be no different. Her mom just didn't want to take her alone... because someone has to hold her during the shots! I get that honour :)

- With me NOT at the station today, you won't find the weekly Terrier Coach's Show with Trent Cassan on this blog. Randy Atkinson did the show, and I'll post it tomorrow morning. I did tune in to GX at 10:45, and Trent talked about the hot start from Robbie Ciolfi, and said while their 5-4 and 6-5 wins over Kindersley and Nipawn (OT) weren't flawless efforts, they managed to get 2 points in each game, and 3-and-1 is a good spot to be at this point. He also noted they're 3-and-0 at home, 0-and-1 on the road... and it's always a challenge to bring your same game from home, into opposing barns. Their next big test is Wednesday when they visit the 4-and-0 Humboldt Broncos.

- We'll be hyping up the four Yorkton/Melville home and home series a little different this season. I'll make the "online" announcement later this week... I don't believe it's been officially announced on the air yet... but we've got a half-hour talk show sold and ready to go, 4 times this season. You can certainly tune in, OR come watch live. As long as my bosses don't mind, I'll release WHERE and with WHO the shows will be with in the near future.

- In all likelihood, we will be adding five Prairie Junior Hockey League regular season broadcasts to our schedule, involving Fort Knox and/or Ochapowace Thunder. That's another thing I just have to have confirmed from our sales guys... and it should be this week or early next. The PJHL season starts tomorrow. Fort and Ochap both open up on the weekend. The Thunder visit the West Central Rage Friday and the Saskatoon Quakers Saturday. Their home opener's Sat/Oct/9 when they welcome the Saskatoon Westleys at the Lebret Eagle Dome. Fort Knox also starts on the road, Saturday in Saskatoon vs the Royals. They play 4 road games before their home opener against Assiniboia on Wed/Oct/13.

Craig

Any word on a trade with Humboldt involving Stott. I heard about 2 weeks ago it was supposedly a done deal.

Last I heard was Stott's not playing anywhere this year. Sounded like Battleford for a while too.
