Mils Announce Trade, 2 Signings *Update*

The Melville Millionaires and Winnipeg Saints have completed a trade from last season that saw the Mils send G Justin Leclerc to Winnipeg, in exchange for F Cody Gross. Both players were 20 at the time and have since graduated to the CIS. The deal also included future considerations going each way, and it ended up being roster players.

To Winnipeg
1991 D Derek Wasylyshyn

09/10: Melville (52 GP 1g-11a-12p)

To Melville
1992 F Lucas Froese
09/10: Winnipeg Saints (52GP 10g-14a-24p)
09/10: Regina Pats (WHL) (2GP 0 pts)

Mils' Coach Jamie Fiesel says Froese will attend Swift Current Broncos' camp first, but will be a Millionaire if that doesn't work out.

--------------

The Millionaires' recruiting class for the 2010-11 season includes a pair of their most highly sought after prospects from out-of-province.

1992 F Roger Tagoona (Rankin Inlet, NT)
09/10 Norman Northstars (Manitoba 'AAA')
42 GP (25g-16a-41p 60 PIM)

1992 F Connor Lowe-Wylde (Blairmore, AB)
09/10 Southwest Rockies (Alberta 'AA')
32 GP (27g-15a-42 pts)

--------------------------------

And a couple other Melville notes. Former Millionaire Michael Jordan, and his brother Josh, both from Raymore, helped the Bulyea Rustlers to a Western Canadian Men's Fastball Championship. I'm pretty sure they're both in the back row, I THINK MJ is the third player from the right, and Josh is 3rd or 4th from the left... tough to see!

Fellow Mils grad Matt Kinnunen is joining ANOTHER former Millionaire Levi Lind with the Columbus Cotton Mouths in the Central Hockey League next season.

Although I am a Terrier supporter, I like the signing of Tagoona. Quite a skilled kid, and some Inuit flavour to the league never hurts.

He did very well for himself at the Aboriginal Nationals in Ottawa this past season for Team Nunuvut. I believe he was the leading scorer for his team. I was hoping against hope the Terriers would contact, persue and acquire the kid, but alas, it was not to be. Atleast, assuming he makes the team out of camp, I'll get a chance at seeing him play when the Mils comes to town! Unfortunately, I'll be hoping he gets shut down with the rest of the Mils.
