Checking In...

Looks like the Melville Millionaires and Moose Jaw Miller Express will be seeing LOTS of eachother.

The two WMBL teams wrap up the regular season with a double header in Melville tomorrow (WED), and will then square off in Round 1 of the playoffs, beginning Friday in Melville.

Regina meets Weyburn in the other East Semi.

Swift Current and Okotoks get the top two seeds out West, and they will either play Lethbridge or Medicine Hat.

Holidays are goin' good. I still usually sleep through the baby's 3:00AM feeding, and after the 6:00 AM one, instead of going to work, I hand her off to a grandparent and go back to bed. Except for right now... I felt like listening to some GX 8:00 Sports online and doing my usual score-checking. My mind's not on holidays yet! Melville beat Yorkton 9-6 in the Mils/Cards final meeting of the season. Yorkton will miss the playoffs this year.

Swung my first golf club yesterday. July 26th. New record I think. Wasn't brave enough to actually play a round after that much time of NOT golfing... so hit up the driving range. The in-laws live real close to Wilson's... which is a place you could spend the whole day at with the family if you wanted. They've got a big greenhouse for those of you into flowers, but then they've got mini-golf, driving range, and probably the best go-carts I've ever been on. $12 gets you a large bucket of balls, which is outrageous, but that's what I did yesterday afternoon during my mother-in-law's jewellery party.

Sunday (July 25th) was our first anniversary. Can't believe how fast the last 365 days have gone, and never would have predicted we'd have a 2-month old by our anniversary! But she is great, and I'm trying to spend as much time with her as I can these couple weeks, with hockey season (Dad's dead to the world) already just around the corner.

Our broadcast schedule is about 99% set. My goal was to have it done before my time off, but there were one or two games that had to be switched, and I'll get it all confirmed as soon as I get back August 9th.
