Yorkton Terrier Captain Cody Zubko will not play in Game 3 in Weyburn tonight (MON), after the league handed him a 1-game suspension for his hit on Weyburn's Lucas Ulmer in Game 2.

Lots to get to on tonight's broadcast... we talk to Coach of the Terriers Trent Trent Cassan, Weyburn bench boss Dwight McMillan and Game 2 OT hero Rylan McDonell on our Pre Game Show, and we'll air a 2-part interview I did today with former Terrier Captain Derek Serdachny.

I SEE A SUSPENSION WAS HANDED OUT TO ZUBKO FOR THE HIT ON ULMER, HOPE HE IS OK, I KNOW THIS IS OLD NEWS, BUT I DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE SUSPENSION PROCESS, LAST YEAR CALABABA HITS SKAGEN (YORKTON)FROM BEHIND PUTS HIM OUT FOR THE ENTIRE SEASON NO SUSPENSION, MELVILLES KRANBIL (8 GAME SUSPENSION WAS FOR A FIGHT NOT CFB)GETS CHECKING FROM BEHIND PENALTIES OVER AND OVER AND OVER NO SUSPENSIONS,MANY HAVE SAT OUT FOR THESE, I GET THIS SUSPENSION ON ZUBKO AND HATE TO SEE INJURIES BUT WHY ARE THEY NOT IN EFFECT FOR ALL TEAMS
The league seems to favor certain teams when it comes to suspensions. If I remember there was a game that involved Humboldt and another team (I think it was Battleford) last year. Battleford had a lot of suspensions over that while Humboldt walked away barely hit. When it comes to a hit to the head they should have a process to follow. The suspension should be as long as that player is out, they sit and add one game. Maybe there would not be so many liberties taken. The NHL is taking hot water for some hits that have happened recently. Maybe we need to get stronger on the hit to the head rulings.
I think the cfb ruling should be like the fighting rule after a certain number of times a suspension happens these could be as serious as hits to the head,
A cfb and a hit to the head are similiar. Sometimes the hit to the head comes from the side. The penalties for both should be as serious as the injury that it causes.
Does a serious injury have to take place before we deal with this issue of the hits to the head that have taken place.
