Luke Boechler's #30 hangs outside their locker room until game time.
The Yorkton Terriers suffered their first regulation loss in their 7th game of these playoffs, and saw their lead over the Weyburn Red Wings trimmed to 2-1 in their Sherwood Conference Semi, after a 2-1 loss in Weyburn on Monday.
The Terriers had to deal with four Weyburn powerplays in the third period and eight in the game, while getting five of their own. They failed to score on the PP for the third straight game, and are now 0/19 in the series. They NEARLY scored a short-handed goal for a second straight game when Jordan Menke and Brent Struble cut in on a 2-on-1.
Torey Stott scored his first of the playoffs 10:22 into the opening frame, first undressing his defenseman before snapping on low-blocker, off the post and in on A.J. Whiffen, for the only goal in the first 40 minutes, and wound up being the only one of Yorkton's 36 shots to hit the back of the net (Whiffen 35/36).
Weyburn's Tyler Penny tied it on the PP, and Drew George scored the winner immediately after another PP as the Wings failed to beat Devin Peters on their first 27 shots, but got two by him in the third for a crucial Game 3 victory. Peters made 33/35 saves and continues to have his best stuff in these playoffs.
The always-pivotal Game 4 goes tomorrow (WED) at Farrell Agencies Arena, (7:15 / 7:30 on GX94).

Take the loss in stride boys, you had a great first period, maybe the Melville series and these games are just catching up to you. Rest up today and play the game you have been capable of tomorrow. Have faith in your game stay away from Weyburns attempts to draw penalties, keep your physical game going, Weyburn seems to struggle with that. Keep playing with confidence.
