Terrier G Devin Peters has stopped 60 of the last 62 shots he's facedYorkton shed the Melville Stadium demons and won at the Vault for the first time in 6 tries this season, downing the Mils 3-1.
The Millionaires probably played their best game of the series, but the Terriers scored three times in a 6-minute flurry in the third period, becoming the first road team to win in the series, and have a chance to end the Sherwood Survivor Series Tuesday at home.
The game was scoreless after one period, before Melville's Michael Desjarlais finally got the ice breaker late in the 2nd, making it 1-0 Mils after two.
Riley Paterson tied it, Kevin Stringfellow got the winner, and Rylan McDonell pounced on a turnover and iced it on a breakaway shortly after. McDonell had a goal and an assist, and picked up his second goal in as many games.
Devin Peters made 32/33 saves, and has allowed just two goals in his last two games (on 62 shots, .968%). Deszi Wiens was perfect through two periods, but made 29/32 saves in the loss.
Game 4 goes tonight (TUE), 7:30 at Yorkton's Farrell Agencies Arena, and the Terriers know from last year the Millionaires were able to come back from a similar deficit, down 3-2 heading into Game 6 in Yorkton. The Mils won Games 6 and 7.
Yorkton Coach Trent Cassan ackowledged they're still a win away from their goal on our Post Game Show.

I think the mils should start Rakochy tonight. what you think Craig?
Wow, putting me on the spot!
Personally I think they'll stick with Wiens. He had a tough stretch when he first came, but then turned it around, maybe these last two games are another 'tough stretch.' Of course the stakes are higher now (win or go home).
But they traded for Wiens to be their playoff guy, and although Zack is a great young goalie and MIGHT start for them as soon as next year, they weren't comfortable with a 16 year old carrying the mail in the playoffs, so I can't see them throwing him in there in a MUST WIN game.
Doesn't matter who's in net for Melville...play who you want because the Terriers are going to win tonight!
