Terriers Advance With 4-3 Win Over Mils

The Yorkton Terriers will face the Weyburn Red Wings in the SJHL's Sherwood Conference Semi-Final, after the Terriers knocked out the Melville Millionaires in 4 games in the Survivor Series, finishing with a 4-3 decision on home ice on Tuesday.

Adam Moar (1g-2a) jumped up on a line with Cody Zubko (3a) and Troy Smukowich (2g-1a), and the trio combined for three goals and 9 points in the series clincher.

The Terriers beat Melville for the first time in four consecutive seasons of meeting their rivals in post season play, and will visit the Weyburn Red Wings for Game 1 on Friday night.

We'll have the call on GX94.

The good thing about Yorkton and Melville always meeting, for me, is someone's going to win and move on, but the bad thing is someone always has to lose. Just want to pass along a big THANKS to Jamie Fiesel, Neil Lamberty and the rest of the Millionaires for another great season. The Mils were the team I went furthest with covering my first two seasons here, and thoroughly enjoyed their last couple playoff runs to the South Final and League Championship.

Here's hoping for a similar ride with Trent Cassan's Terriers in 2010!
