McDonald's Hat Trick Leads Stamps Over Wayway / Peters Blanks Estevan

Brad McDonald has 13 career goals with the Swan Valley Stampeders, and seven of them have come in two games.

Last season as a rookie, McDonald scored four goals on November 5, 2008 in a 5-2 win in OCN. Then last (TUE) night, McDonald racked up 3 more as the Stamps beat Wayway 5-3, doubling his previous goal total for the season, now giving him 6.

The Stampeders have now won a season-high 5 straight games, as they travel to meet the Dauphin Kings tonight (7:20 / 7:30 GX94).

Darcy Riddell and Brent Wilson had Swan Valley's other two goals, while Myles Stevens took over the team lead in points (16-34-50) with 4 assists. Jens Meilleur (2) and Myles Baptiste scored for the Wolverines.

Special teams proved to be the difference, as the Stamps went 2/4 on the PP, while the Wolverines were 0/5.

Caden Unger made 30/33 saves for the win, improving his mark as a Stampeder to 7-0-1.

==================

Devin Peters became the third Yorkton Terrier goalie to record a shutout this season, and also notched his first career doughnut, stopping all 32 shots he faced in a 3-0 win in Estevan. The Terriers lead the league with 5 shutouts, as Peters joins Luke Boechler who has three already this season, and Joel Danyluk (now in La Ronge) who had one, also in Estevan this season.

Rylan McDonell, Nick Dietrich and Matt Chomyc scored the Terriers' goals.

It took McDonell 15 games to score his first goal this season, and he had just one in his first 24 games, but has since added four goals in his last 6 games.
