Bonar Back to 'Dub

Swan Valley Stampeder defenseman Paul Bonar is back in the Western Hockey League, after a trade saw his rights go from the Moose Jaw Warriors to the Everett Silvertips.

Bonar was in the lineup last night, and was held pointless with a (-1) rating in a 6-3 loss to the Tri-City Americans.

Not sure if the Stamps expect this to be temporary or permanent, as I'm still on holidays, but off the top of my head, I know the Silvertips are without D Ryan Murray right now, who's with Team West at the Under-17's. Not sure if any other Everett D-men are away at either the U17's or World Juniors... they also recently acquired Curtis Kulchar from Kamloops for some more depth on the backend.

Bonar was a huge lift to the Stamps' blueline when he came back from Moose Jaw, racking up 7g-23a-30p in 36 games this season. Even if he's expected back, he obviously won't be in time for Swan's next game when they host Dauphin Jan/2.

In other WHL news involving local guys, Yorkton product, and now La Ronge G Joel Danyluk was playing backup for the Regina Pats in a 5-2 loss in Medicine Hat last night.

This looks like a temporary situation with the Pats being without their regular starter due to injury.

The following is from LeaderPost writer Greg Harder's blog:

Regina also brought in journeyman G Joel Danyluk to serve as Guhle's backup in the absence of Damien Ketlo (shoulder) . . .

Bonar will be back in Swan in a week or two. Good thing!

Good thing Terriers went with the Danyluk trade or they would have been down a goalie again and scorers yikes wonder if that helped Eddy make decision???
