Metz Back in Melville

1990 F Brayden Metz is back with the Melville Millionaires, after requesting the move from the WHL's Regina Pats. Metz spent time with the Mils last season, and with the Pats in 2009-10, had 1g-5a-6p in 15 games, along with 9 PIMs and a (-4) rating.

Here's the official release from the Pats' website.

And is it just me, or is Brent Parker taking a bit of a shot at both Metz and Junior 'A' Hockey in it?

I'm thinking Metz is the "veteran centre" Jamie Fiesel was looking for to play between Logan Herauf and Aaron Decorby.

I don't have confirmation whether Metzy will play tonight in Weyburn (7:20/7:30 on GX94)... but I don't see why he couldn't. I'll find out this morning.

I hit the link to the Pats' website before I finished reading your post. As I was reading the announcement I was thinking to myself that Mr. Parker certainly didn't agree with Metz's request nor does he have any respect for Junior A hockey. I totally read into it exactly what you did.

Thanks for the great broadcasts of the Wolverines' games - we really enjoy listening to your play-by-play and particularly enjoyed your first intermission interview with Don Chesney the other night!

Yeah Chez is somethin' else!

"There ain't no girl guide cookies in the lobby, this is The Pas!" "There's two games you can't play scared, and that's hockey in The Pas and Hide-and-Seek in the dark."

Usually when I do a Wayway road game he jumps in with me, and it's never boring, I'll say that much!

There are probably a few SJHL teams right now who could tune up the current Pats squad on the ice! I think Parker should worry about his own problems instead of taking pot shots at Metz or the league.
Perhaps if he treated his players with a little more respect, they may want to give him a little more effort and dedication!

Just remember the source of the comments about Jr. A. Brent Parker is arguably the worst GM in any hockey today. His track record is pitiful and his teams have been at best mediocre. Players who've played for him usually have nothing good to say when the relationship ends, and I'm sure somewhere down the road, Metz might say the same.

I agree the Pats haven't been the stongest of dub clubs in recent years... but they do have Jordan Eberle! I'd still put my money on them vs any SJ team.

Brent Parker's dad bought him the team he didn't EARN the GM role and it shows. The guys do not play for him and good for Metz he developed so much more with Melville then he ever did with the Pats.
