Terriers No Longer Perfect @ Home

Brock Appleyard scored twice to lead the Weyburn Red Wings over the Yorkton Terriers 5-1 on Sunday night. Devin Peters started the game for Yorkton, but was pulled after the first period, giving up 3 goals on 11 shots. Joel Danyluk played the final two frames, and allowed 2 goals on 16 shots. Luke Boechler had a 39-save shutout in a 1-0 win over La Ronge the night before.

It was certainly a statement weekend for Weyburn, who swept a home-and-home with Estevan, (both one-goal games, one in OT), before going on the road and beating the Terriers. The 6 points separates the Wings from the pack, now 9-2-0-1, five points ahead of the second place Terriers.

Austin Bourhis scored Yorkton's only goal, and the Terriers are now 6-and-1 at home this season, 7-and-6 overall.

Weyburn's in Melville tomorrow (TUE), while Yorkton travels to Estevan (7:20/7:30 on GX94).

The Wayway Wolverines got back in the win column, scoring 4 third period goals to come from behind and beat Winnipeg South 5-2.

Niko Grose had 3-assists, while Ryan Regel, Ryan Duhaime and Dan Kelsey all scored once and added a helper. Joe Carney and Jens Meilleur also scored for Wayway (5-10-0-1).
