Boechler Makes His Case

In just his second start of the season, Luke Boechler stopped all 39 shots he faced, including 20 in the third period as the Yorkton Terriers blanked the La Ronge Ice Wolves 1-0 on Saturday night.

Boechler becomes the first Terrier goaltender to record a shutout this season, but the third to get a win, joining Joel Danyluk and Devin Peters.

Boechler's performance puts another spin for the Terriers' goaltender situation, with three 19-year-olds all appearing capable of starting. 17 year old Warren Shymko's also in the fold after being re-assigned earlier in the week, giving Yorkton 4 tenders at the moment.

Yorkton's now 6-and-0 at home, and 7-and-5 overall, leaving them alone in second place as they get set to host the first place Weyburn Red Wings tonight (SUN) at 6:00.

Who'll get the start in goal???

The Wings won a pair of one-goal games over Estevan on Friday and Saturday, improving to 8-2-0-1, with 17 points, three more than the Terriers.

The Swan Valley Stampeders ended a 5-game slide with a 5-3 win over Selkirk. The Stamps improve to 9-and-8.
