(Silverson Post Game comments can be heard below)WOW! Most fun I've had calling a hockey game, and now this series is the series most expected it to be... going atleast 6 games.
Yorkton beat Melville 4-3 in double overtime. The Mils led 3-0 just 13 minutes in on goals from Austin Krahenbil, Shane Stanicky and Aaron Decorby.
The Terriers chipped away... Derek Serdachny got all 3 regulation goals... the first in the second period, and two in the third period just 15 seconds apart to tie it.
The first overtime solved nothing, but was probably the most exciting period of hockey I've ever witnessed. The second overtime was VERY sluggish, but at the 12:20 mark of period 5, Corey Silverson beat Travis Bosch with a high backhand. The goal came just seconds after the Terriers killed off a penalty.
Shots on goal were 45-43 Melville. Devin Peters made 7 saves on 10 shots to start the game for the Terriers, before Joel Danyluk came in and stopped all 35 he faced. Travis Bosch made 39 saves for the Mils.
This series is going at least 6 games, and the next two are back to back nights... Saturday in Melville, Sunday in Yorkton (at 6:00). The rest of the games will be on GX94.
P.S. I've been ripped on message boards more than once in 4 years of doing this, and I probably hate seeing my colour guys get ripped even more, so please... message boarders... STOP! And when you leave those kinds of comments on here, I hit REJECT. Thank you.
