Evan Durnin opened the scoring for Wayway, but the Wolverines went on to suffer a second straight 3-2 defeat to the first place Portage Terriers last (SUN) night.Jason Bowles had Wayway's other goal, while Eric Delong scored twice for Portage, and defenseman Drew Ellement added his second of the series. Brenden Walker chipped in with 2 assists. The Terriers out-shot Wayway 37-23, and made good on 2 of their 8 powerplays, while the Wolverines were 0-for-9, with their final chance coming in the final 2 minutes of the third.
It'll be interesting to see how this young team responds after a pair of frustrating one-goal losses to the first place Terriers. My hope is that they keep their heads up and realize they've been one shot away from playing with the Terriers all series. There's no question they gotta steal Game 3 on the road tomorrow (TUE) to have a hope. Catch the action, 7:15/7:30 on GX94.
