The Dauphin Kings lost on home ice for just the fifth time this season as the Wayway Wolverines left Credit Union Place with a 3-2 win.
Shane Gray opened the scoring midway into the first, and Jason Bowles, back after missing 7 games, got his 23rd of the year on the powerplay to make it 2-0 Wayway after one.
The two teams played a scoreless second, and with 5 minutes left in the third, Dauphin's Luke Stokotelny spoiled Jayme Janzen's shutout bid cutting the lead to 2-1. Logan Dew restored the 2-goal lead with less than 2 minutes left, and it stood as the winner, with Dauphin's Cam McGeough scoring with 6 seconds left.
(Dew's Post-Game Comments below)
Jayme Janzen made 28 saves on 30 Dauphin shots. Brett Willows stopped 30 of 33 in the Kings' net.
The Wolverines remain two points up on Neepawa for fourth spot, and travel to OCN tonight (WED).
